Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
1. Who is responsible?
Joeri Van Herreweghe (hereafter "I" or "Joeri Van Herreweghe") is the data controller for personal data collected via this website (joerivanherreweghe.be). For questions about this privacy policy or about your personal data, please use the contact form on the website or reach out via LinkedIn.
2. What data is collected?
This website only collects personal data when you voluntarily fill out the contact form. Specifically:
- Salutation (Mr., Mrs., Dr., Prof.)
- First and last name
- Email address
- Company or institution (optional)
- Type of request (keynote, training, advisory, …)
- Message content
3. Cookies and tracking
This website uses no cookies. No tracking cookies, no functional cookies, no analytics cookies. There is no use of Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or similar tracking services. No profile of your visit is built up.
The Inter typeface and icons are loaded via Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). This means your IP address is briefly processed by Google when fetching the style files. If you wish to avoid this, you can configure your browser to block external fonts.
4. Why is your data used?
Data submitted through the contact form is used exclusively to respond to your enquiry and — if you wish — to prepare further collaboration, a lecture or an assignment. Your data is not used for automated decision-making, profiling, or commercial mailings.
5. Legal basis
Processing is based on your explicit consent (Article 6.1.a GDPR), which you give by voluntarily submitting the contact form, and on a legitimate interest in responding correctly to your enquiry (Article 6.1.f GDPR).
6. Who receives your data?
The contact form uses the service FormSubmit.co (Devro LABS) as a technical intermediary to deliver messages to my inbox. FormSubmit processes your data solely to deliver the email and keeps no archive of submissions. Further processing happens in my own mail environment.
Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with other third parties.
7. How long is data kept?
Messages submitted via the contact form are retained for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, and — if a collaboration follows — for the duration of that collaboration plus any statutory retention periods (accounting: 7 years). Messages without follow-up are deleted within a reasonable time frame (maximum 2 years).
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data held about you;
- Have inaccurate data corrected;
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten");
- Restrict processing;
- Receive your data in a portable format (data portability);
- Object to processing;
- Withdraw consent at any time.
You can exercise these rights via the contact form on this website. If you believe your rights are being violated, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority: www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
9. Security
The website is served via HTTPS (SSL encryption). The contact form transmits data over an encrypted connection. Access to received messages is restricted to Joeri Van Herreweghe personally.
10. Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated at any time. The most recent version will always be available on this page. The date at the top reflects the latest update.
